Jenny takes drastic measures to amp up the energy before today's staff development. Fueling to move Mountains and Dew more with balanced literacy!

Jenny McDaniel's experiences in education range from special education co-teacher, campus instructional coach, assistant principal for 11 years, and district literacy specialist. Her core belief that every child can succeed is based on her background in special education: teaching students in the Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities through 5th grade. A self-proclaimed book nerd, Jenny has witnessed how a balanced approach to teaching literacy allows all children (no matter gifted or special needs) to feel success and reach their potential as a lifelong reader and writer. She finds great joy in reading, researching and giving teachers practical instructional / management tools to use in their reading / writing workshop the very next day.

Jenny received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in English / Child Psychology and her masters from Stephen F. Austin University. Jenny lives with her husband, 7th grade son, 3rd grade daughter and her fur baby pug, Otis.
